Introducing Huli (ಹುಲಿ), a world-class single-origin jaggery rum, handcrafted right here in Mysuru at India’s first micro-distillery, located in the Adakanahalli Industrial Area, Nanjangud taluk.

Huli, which means ‘Tiger’ in Kannada, isn’t just any rum. It’s a tribute to our ancestors and their cherished traditions. This exceptional spirit is the result of an adventurous 8-year journey, filled with passion and dedication to revive a piece of our heritage.

A Taste of Our Heritage

So, what makes Huli special? It starts with the finest jaggery, a staple in Indian households, transformed into a premium rum that stands tall among the best in the world. Distilled, matured, and bottled in our very own Mysuru, Huli is a testament to what dedication and love for tradition can achieve.

Arun Urs, co-founder of the distillery, shares a bit of their journey: “You need to have a lot of patience in this venture. A lot. Had a few grey hairs when the process started, now even my eyebrows are greying. My co-founder Chandra, who is the originator of this whole thing, has almost gone bald. Remember, when in doubt, give a shout!”

Mysuru and Bengaluru residents, get ready to embrace this exceptional rum. Huli will be hitting the retail shelves next month at Rs. 2800. And who knows, the price might even drop if the government decides to reduce ED/AED on higher slabbed products.

One curious reader asked, “Ella ok, but why Huli and not Bella?” Arun’s response was simple: “Good question. Because Bella is already registered by Amruth, and they are launching jaggery rum too!”
